I know there are alot of variables to take into account but keeping it simple, if you are around the green and have to chip do you prefere to use a long, mid or short iron?
All the advice I see/read tells you to get the ball on the deck as quick as possible and run it out which works well on the links but I prefere to keep the ball in the air for aslong as possible (atleast in the winter anyway) and the reason I do is because the ball is less likely to bobble off line if it hits a stone, picth mark, clump etc.
Has been a good theory for me lately, my short game is coming back strong!
