Apologies if in wrong place, I did search, chatting in the Bar after playing today the discussion was qualifying age for Seniors Events, with the PGA being 50 and we think amatuer's 55 is it actually laid down anywhere or is it down to organisers to say?

Usually all EGU events are 55, most scratch events are 55 and it varies from 55 or 60 fo seniors opens.

The Scottish seniors amatuers allow you to be a memeber from 50

Good luck

The odd seniors open comp is 50 and over just to fill the field at some clubs, but most are 55 and over.
More and more senior opens are changing to 4bbb comps, seems to be a more profitable and popular format.

I think most clubs operate a "Seniors" section which is usually over 60's who also may benefit from reduced subscriptions. Most Senior Opens etc are 55. As above, it's up to the organisers but I think the 55 limit is fairly common. Certainly is in the North West.

For our Seniors Open we have 2 divisions, 55-64 & 65 and over, our Seniors pairs Open is 55+, I think our vets (Coggs) is also 55+.

I enter quite a few Senior Opens and have to be careful on the age criteria.
Some are 55, but quite a few are 60.
I have never come across one where it's 50 though.

Why, I thought you'd qualify for all of them :smirk:

Cheers guys, really does seem to be down to organisers rather than anything laid down.
