Right gents how's about this. No handicap ajustments based on gross scores only. Professional Golfer v Cat 1 & a Cat 2 golfer v a team of three made of Cat 3 & at least one Cat 4 golfer. So an individual v a pair v a trio. The groups play Texas scramble. Winning team splits £5k

Question 1: who wins? I'm going for the pro
Question 2: who would you pick from the forum to partner you?
Question 3: which pro would you most like to take on

I reckon the Cat 1 and 2 as they have more opportunities than the pro on his own and will be more consistant than the 3 and 4's. I'll play with anyone mad enough to have me on their team. Lots of pros I'd enjoy playing with but Bob would be good to see him moan about giving up a £5 note. Other than that I'd go for McIlroy or Clarke. Rory to watch one o fthe best strikers of the ball in full flow and Darren because I reckon he wouldn't take it too seriously and have a good laugh

1) If it's a top pro then the pro. If a PGA pro I'd say the cat1 & cat2.
2) I'm cat2 so I assume I'd need a cat1 to partner? I'll go for Swinger because I like playing approach shots with a putter :)
3) McIlroy.

Jeez, I'm lost. Can someone simplify this?

Team 1 = Pro
Team 2 = Cat1 & Cat2
Team 3 = Cat3 & Cat3 & Cat4

Texas scramble, no handicaps.

1) Who wins?
2) Who do you want to be your partner?
3) Who do you want want team 1 to be to play against?

HTH :D

Don't pick swinger. He is the best 14 hole player I have ever seen.

That suits me, I'm normally good for 4 holes

You need to define the term PRO more clearly,.. are we talking reasonable tour pro or a bog standard mars bar salesman?

More often than not I'd say the TOUR pro wins he's more likely to break par all by himself than either of the other 2 teams, yes the cat1&2 together might occasionally do it, but not often enough.

Deliberately left open to enable people to identify who they felt they could take on from World Number One Luke Donald through to our very own bobmac. Probably only the second time Bob and Luke will be referred to in the same sentence following: Donald accredits Lincolnshire pro McArthur's invention for his short game prowess ;)

Oh and interesting that no-one has mentioned what course yet :D
