With all the chaos around managers in Scotland, it’s great that StJ have felt able to offer their manager a contract extension to 2029 - congrats to Simo Valakari

The new owner - of a year and a bit - really likes Valakari and that he interacts so well with the Perth public and schools. They are keeping him under contract in case Aberdeen or Celtic try to poach him.
Contracts really mean very little, results will dictate how long he stays. A run of poor results he'll get sacked and if he does really well it won't stop a bigger club taking him off you. With all the chaos around managers in Scotland, it’s great that StJ have felt able to offer their manager a contract extension to 2029 - congrats to Simo Valakari![]()
He’s been after a move since the summer, and came close to joining Brentford and Wolfsburg. Latest word is he has decided to stay until the summer as a regular game at Celtic will help cement his place at the WC.Is Maeda looking to leave?
It was a very good performance, Engels and Tounetki in particular were excellent.Well done MON on your return..massive improvement all round.
It's mad to think how much difference a good man manager and other backroom staff with the tactics can make to a team. So much more comfortable not playing a back 3.
Couldn't help but notice the lack of celebration from maeda when he scored. Hopefully that was just frustration at his earlier missed chances. I hope we manage to hold onto him till the summer.
Watched the game yesterday but must have missed that. Apparently it was reviewed and cleared by VAR. Can you post the clip?Just seen a clip of a shocker of a “tackle” by a Celtic player yesterday. Should have been red.View attachment 60619
It’s a bad tackle, but not an out and out shocker. Right in front of the ref who thought it was a yellow. VAR reviewed and agreed. Right decision.![]()

It doesn't look that bad in real time or the one replay. Just late and obvious yellow.![]()

Given this happened in the first half, and the guy who was fouled went on to play the entire 90 minutes , I think we can safely assume he wasn’t badly injured. It doesn't look that bad in real time or the one replay. Just late and obvious yellow.
However, didnt get the still image or super slow motion to see if his foot went strongly into ankle or whether opponent was badly injured? Of course, many will say super slow motion makes some tackles look worse, so maybe not seeing it is for the best![]()
Whether he was injured or not should not come into the decision.Given this happened in the first half, and the guy who was fouled went on to play the entire 90 minutes , I think we can safely assume he wasn’t badly injured.
It probably didnt. They obviously just judged it wasn't a violent tackle, thus gave a yellow rather than red.Whether he was injured or not should not come into the decision.
Indeed, Celtics first clean sheet since the last game MON managed. The league table could have looked a lot different if Celtic never had their month of madness with WN.Well done MON on your return..massive improvement all round.
