Scottish Fitba'

Hearts aren't any good, very lucky to win today. Just a committed side with a goalscorer. Injuries will hit them hard. Celtic have looked much better in the last two games, xG was nearly above 4 in both games so maybe NancyBall is working ;)
Did you watch the game ?
Hearts missed 3 absolute sitters half way through the second half and gave away a seriously soft goal in the final seconds.
Rangers had two shots on target in 94 minutes.
Hearts goalie had one save in 94 minutes.

You miss the point. Was the support not there prior to McCann and Desmond? Of course it was, it was just the club was run badly.

I think the success has spoilt the fanbase and entitlement has crept in. Just my personal opinion though.

If you asked any other club if they would be happy with wining 13 of the last 14 league titles they'd bite your hands off.

Not missing any point just pointing out some facts, the support was always there, McCann put a stadium and commercial foundations in place to maximise income from them in this last 30 year. Also in turn maximising the amount of money he walked away with.

You’re spot on in that there definitely is an entitlement from a lot of the support these days, all they’ve known is success and trophies. Where as for the previous generation a trophy was like a lottery win.

One thing that is great to see recently from this generation of supporters still keeping the reasons the club was founded going in annual food bank collections and a winter clothing collection at the weekend there, probably helping thousands of those in need the most within communities in and around Glasgow.

A far cry from the millionaires flying their sons in on their private jets with scripts to read from on how they should be Celtic supporters. Too busy golfing with his other millionaire pals to do it himself.

But aye as long as they’re big Celtic fans.

Interesting site and stats.

I remember in the 80s or 90s that Celtic allegedly tweaked attendance figures to avoid paying tax. 🤣
That definitely happened from time to time, but was much more of a thing in the 80s when the vast majority were paying cash at the turnstiles. I used to go every week, and it would happen for a big game against the likes of Aberdeen or Dundee Utd. You could tell there was the best part of 40 thousand there, and they would announce the crowd as 28k. That always got a big laugh from the crowd. 25k was about right for a run of the mill fixture.
