Scottish Fitba'

Desmond has never pumped money into Celtic, he bought shares that he gets dividends on every year. My suspicion with him was that he invested in the hope that Celtic would gain access to the EPL which would have seen his investment rocket.
The reason why we have dominated is simple, McCann built a bigger stadium than Rangers that gave Celtic a financial advantage that ultimately proved decisive.
I don't disagree that certain things we do we do well. The mistakes we keep making are terrible and seem to be constantly repeated. Too many people have been in place too long and the hole place is crying out for fresh eyes on the problems.
Celtic have only dominated because Rangers imploded.

The success Celtic have had from the bank balance to trophies won is down to huge investment year after year from the support, not McCann, not Desmond, not any individual. McCann and Desmond done a job, not this myth of personal wealth being pumped into the club, they invested money to acquire shares and control leading to big dividends year after year and huge profit when they eventually sell up. I’m not knocking that, they’re business men, especially McCann who did front the money to keep the doors open and was honest with what he was going to do from the outset.

But success in recent times has came from the hundreds of millions of pounds of backing from two share issues (majority of whom won’t sell for profit), merchandise sales, matchday corporate hospitality, 50thousand plus season ticket sales year after year more than any other club in UK.

All these CEO’s, chairmen, directors, owners should remember it’s because of these people their bank balances are the way they are, instead of trying to lecture them on how to support the club.

Feels like normal service resumed, Celtic back in the winner's circle and Rangers lose again.

What's the phrase? Ah yes, what a great day for Scottish football 🤭🤭

Honestly what is it with current coaching that has keeper and defence playing Russian roulette with the ball, with opposition forwards just sniffing out any loose pass or minor lack of control…with little or no mitigation of the risk if it goes wrong. What were Aberdeen doing against Celtic - Just nonsense.

Rangers imploded because McCann built a bigger stadium that gave Celtic an inbuilt financial advantage, an extra 10,000 paying customers every game.

You still have to invest that money astutely though. He hasn't taken big risks but he's done a very solid job. Rangers did implode but that was a result of years of overspending finally coming home to roost. They were outspending clubs like Man Utd and Barcelona in the early 90's.

Has he made mistakes? Of course but Rodgers wasn't cheap and he delivered a lot of your really dominant years. I just can't see who else will come in and achieve more. Do you want to risk going bankrupt just to compete a bit better in the Champions League?

You miss the point. Was the support not there prior to McCann and Desmond? Of course it was, it was just the club was run badly.

I think the success has spoilt the fanbase and entitlement has crept in. Just my personal opinion though.

If you asked any other club if they would be happy with wining 13 of the last 14 league titles they'd bite your hands off.

There's a lot of options between spending sensibly and going bankrupt. The only British team with more cash in the bank than Celtic is Spurs. I'm all for Celtic keeping money in reserve for a rainy day but we shouldn't have such huge cash reserves whilst also having such a crap squad.
Desmond should take a step back, look at the job that's being done by the people running the club and asking one question, could it be run better? If he thinks it couldn't be then congratulations Hearts on winning the league.

I still think you guys will win the league. The biggest issue was appointing Tidsdale and his decision on Nancy looks really poor.

Including Hearts.

Here’s my prediction.
1. Celtic (cash spent in Jan)
2. Rangers (as above)
3. Hearts.
Be interesting to look back in this at end of season... You could be right... Bookies still have celtic as favourites...
Its all down to how Hearts cope out in front.. They had a blip but have come back strong... Celtic, whilst good attacking, cannot score the goals the play deserves.. On top of that we are terrible at the back... Then are we going to lose maeda in January..? . His energy is irreplaceable.. I'll go...
1.Celtic
2.Hearts
3. Rangers.

Tisdale was a terrible appointment. Seemingly he only got the job because his friend is a golfing buddy of Dermot. Nancy was a risk no sensible person would take. If Hearts can strengthen in January they might be hard to reel in.

Hearts aren't any good, very lucky to win today. Just a committed side with a goalscorer. Injuries will hit them hard. Celtic have looked much better in the last two games, xG was nearly above 4 in both games so maybe NancyBall is working ;)
