Scottish Fitba'

Best performance in Europe since the O’Neill days. This wasn’t some jammy win, Celtic looked like the better team. The team press was great, the little give and goes and triangles worked, some great through balls, physical in challenges and CalMac controlling the whole second half.

Genuinely shocked at that performance, we looked like a proper Champions League team rather than the whipping boys.

Celtic were excellent tonight. One sticky spell around the panic at the corners and some slack passing. Apart from that played really well. I consider that 3 bonus points as I definitely wasn't expecting it.

They did. That said, I thought that Aberdeen, in the Rangers game, looked a proper SPL contender team - until, that is, they met the one that looks a proper CL team…🙄

Yes but doesn’t European success for Scottish clubs not contribute to the coefficient of the Scotland National team that is used when ranking teams in the draws for international comps.

Pretty sure club and country are entirely separate. After all, clubs have many non Scottish players in them, not relevant to the national team

Ah…had a read - European success of clubs in the league of a country does contribute to the country coefficient, but only for ranking of clubs from the country in future European club comps. As you say, club success does not impact the coefficient of a country for the national team.

Pity…going to have to support Rangers and Celtic in European matches purely on basis of them being Scottish teams and any success they have will reflect well on the image of Scottish football…which…after all…has not been great of late. And for that I am happy to give that support and congrats.

Hearts playing some superb football first half, loads of chances but no goals..yet

Disappointing finish, two cracking goals by the opposition though.
Stats show a different game from the result.

I see what you’ve said there - yes good to see them return to the fray - it’s been too long. And with Pittodrie being filled most weeks their income streams will be healthy. Now all we have to do is find a really good team to stop them…and it won’t be from Perth…🙄

They’ve made a great start, never seen a team turned around to such an extent under a new manager.
Really pleased to see last week's hammering hasn't affected them, it would have been easy for them to crumble.

Tough game for Celtic this afternoon after the midweek heroics. Killie is always a hard place to go. CCV and Trusty both doubtful. Scales is an able deputy, but Welsh gives me the fear.
