We play in some interclub knockout matches in various formats. There are basically 3 ways to determin the winning side:
1. Matches won - with a nominated pair as the tie brakers.
2. Matches won - with the away team winning if match scores are level.
3. Matches won - with the highest aggregate winning scores counting.
It's this last one that made me question what the final score is at the end of the match.
Player A is dormie 2 up and both players are on the green.
Player B is near the hole but player A holes his putt, Handshakes all round - is the score 2&1 or 3&1?
Same scenario but player B putts first and misses - as only a half is needed he concedes - again 3&1 or just 2&1?
Didn't matter until goal difference was introduced!
