I firstly want to say I am not trying to sell anything or advertise anything, its just a bit of market research.
I just want a short and simple answer.

I have been offered a financially very favorable business opportunity to buy 100% authentic 2008 Ryder Cup clothing. I can get T Shirts,Waterproofs, visors, sweaters the whole shabang
BUT
I am concerned that it is dated 2008 even though it is all quality gear.

Question
Would you buy it if you saw the price was very good for the quality of the make and product although it has 2008 Ryder Cup Valhalla Golf Club on it?

If it was that easy to sell (at a margin) why do they want to sell it to you? Unless what they want for it is dirt cheap.....

Is it direct from the brand or via a 3rd party...

The RC people get a bit funny sometimes about 'people' selling RC stuff - the 2010 gear will be out in May I expect so you haven't got long to shift it.....

I wouldn't buy it personally but some people might.

As Sammme says, not much time to offload it with next years coming out soon.

Why don't you ask Mono for some help moving it on, sure he can offer some advice going on his school business lol.

I wasn't wanting to know how much Alchemy was making I was asking margins because if he is hoping to sell it at 10% gross margin then I would advise him not to take a punt with it but if he had a good margin (40%+)on it then there could be some adjustments in order to get it all sold.

10% on clothing!!!! - if your initial sale price is not 50% gross on clothing then don't bother.....

A minimum 50% margin.

If I was to sell the stuff then a tidy profit would be made but my big worry is as I set off with my own business is that I cant afford to have any money tied up in stock I cant shift.

It is a good opportunity but im thinking that its just not good timing.

Very tempting though.
My source is one of my closest friends who works for one of the biggest golf retailers in europe. He is in charge of all golf buying and selling for his company so im thinking another chance on something else will come along shortly, hopefully!!

Thanks for all your input guys!!

Can't think why people would want to buy RC kit after the fact when we got our asses whooped by the Yanks..

If we'd won then I could see a market but as we lost where's the point?
