Quite like the Ashworth kit so would be tempted at the right price irrespective of the Ryder Cup logo and year. Not worried about the logo if the shirt is comfortable and looks OK.

That is the actual clothing im being offered !

Not joking!!

That's quite sweet. What sort of quantities are you talking about being offered? I'm interested in how much they over estimated the amount of gear they would actually sell at the original ludicrous prices :D. I was interested in some of the polos at one stage but at £54 a pop I quickly lost it again- who is going to pay that when the same top without a Ryder cup logo on it would cost you closer to £30. :D

Oh yea if you have the chance to buy individual items at heavily reduced prices, and not large bulk orders, I may still be interested :D

Alchemy, during my business studies it was shown that the biggest cause of businesses failing is lack of cashflow.
Lots of stock but cant pay the bills.

I take it you cant get the stuff on sale or return?
I would think long and hard about this.
Sure, you will shift some of it but you will NEVER sell all of it.
In answer to your question, I would not buy it.
Stick to your club work is my advice for what it's worth

I could have anything up to 6000 units, dont want that much but there is a lot of it.My prices would be lower than on the official website.

Bob had already spoke to my mate and have the option of sale or return but the margin is a quite a bit lower but no risk on my behalf.

So will probably take a punt at it now on that basis.

Sale or return is the way to go.
Keep some money back in case a better deal comes along.
Orrrr you might be tempted by the new Pings that are coming out. OOps, you did not hear that from me

My pro shop had Ryder Cup clothing before, during and after. Did they sell alot? No. People don't want to buy it, especially because of the price, very expensive. Plus it didn't look to great, a huge Ryder Cup logo sticks out a mile away.

You can touch it with a barge pole or any other strange device if there is no risk Twiregolf.

Only pay for what I sell.

Cushdy Rodney!!

If you had said it was sale or return earlier, I wouldn't have made that comment.

You've just gone from high risk to no risk

Changing the goal posts makes a lot of difference in the replies

Alchemy,
If your just setting up business then I wouldn't buy it. You need to keep hold of as much of your money as possible. Don't spend money you haven't really got spare on stock you'll be sittign on for a few weeks/months just because you think you can shift it at a good margin. You can't say for certain what people will buy in the current climate, everyone is tightening the strings so even if it's a good price, it's probably not as cheap as soem retails stores that sell last years golf range at very good prices.

Keep you money mate.

Twire I did say it in in my last post before yours my friend.

Like I said before thanks for all your input and the way I see it is that I have nothing to lose by having sale or return on the gear.

If it sells then theres a few extra quid in the bank,if not I just give it back.

Not a fan of Ryder Cup gear, Much prefer a (red) nice adidas polo shirt. Was going to get one before the Ryder Cup just to show my support but they were ridiculously over priced.

On a sale or return deal you have nothing to lose, go for it.

Can't really see it shifting myself.

Firstly who wants to buy the tops after we lost?

Secondly wouldn't the time devoted to selling these be used more profitably?

Less margin on a product that will shift quicker would be the way to go for me.

If its sale or no return then surely its a win win situation, at worst what will you lose if you dont sell, a bit of spare time? Will that spare time cost you money, if not then you aint lost anything!

But no wonder they can't shift it, £50 big ones for a sickly polo top that looks more suited to baseball! Yuk.

Good luck with it though if you take it on!
