Europe need to be thankful that the USA seem to self-destruct more often than not. If they ever got their act together then we'd be in trouble. They nearly always have the better players but hardly ever seem to have the better team. Long may that continue!
JT has had a mare there, like others have said, accept defeat and work on rectifying it for the next one.

Think this was on the No Laying Up podcast that JT is being quoted which I listened to. He started with the pretty lame excuses of Europe made more putts etc as to why they got thumped, before being slightly led (imo) by the interviewer into course setup. It showed me that USA are still years behind the European approach to the competition and still just rely on individual skill rather than the strength of the collective

I still think the talk of course set-up is being overblown somewhat. The players mostly all play the same events and courses throughout the year, so I would think whatever set-up favours one team would favour both teams for the most part. Just weak excuses and sour grapes to blame course set-up.

Even the chat on that episode about the logical fix is to go to and use the orginisation that sets up the tournament courses (PGAtour) weekly as if this would benefit the US players.
Forgetting pretty much the full European team are playing in the same tournaments.

JT’s almost pure dismissal of stats etc. I took as a bit of a dig at European team too, obviously with Donald/molinari’s attention to detail stat wise. Couple of points did make sense but throwing in about him and tiger never looking at a stat once was just a bit yawn. As if they were some mad force together.

Watching Ryder cup from 1997 valdarrama ....quality teams.. First time Europe had played outside bristish isles for a home game.. Tiger Woods debut also..

Depends what you get for it imo. I went to the 2018 RC at Le Golf National, tickets from memory were roughly £118. Then factor in travel to get there, food, drinks on the day and souvenirs item. I probably spent close to if not more than £500, we did it a day as well without over night stays.
I’ve been to the Euros, other big football matches, a NFL game and others events. All of which cost me less than that single day at the RC, yet that was singularly the best sporting event I’ve ever been to bar none.
However that being said the increase in ticket prices to that level mental. There’s better value in the week long package Tuesday-Sunday at £2k. It’s a hell of a lot of money but makes more sense than £500 a day.
I’d love to go again but that’s definitely priced me out of it.

People will pay it - I won't but people will and for me, that's a good thing for golf because it shows the value of the game is increasing positively. Of course it's disappointing that it's out of reach for the vast majority of golf fans but it is without doubt one of the pinnacle events in the sporting calendar, let alone golf.

Was looking at The Open packages this morning, over £4k for a few nights in digs, two rounds of golf, and 2 days of tickets to The Open 2027. Mental amounts of money, but again, people will pay for the privilege.

For €500 I’d rather stay home and watch full coverage. Like I said the single best event I’ve ever been to, but at those prices I won’t ever be going again.
I think @Mel Smooth has hit the nail on the head people will pay for the privilege. So as much as we don’t see its value, there will no doubt be sell out crowds and I’d imagine the corporate ticket buyers will put a load in the coffers as well.
Contrast in ticket prices, the PGA at Wentworth are on general sale £50 Thursday-Friday, £80 at weekend
