I’ve listened to a few Ryder cup review podcasts in the last week, and it’s interesting how the love of the course has changed compared to the ones prior.

All of the preview podcasts and YouTube vlogs raved about it, how tough it is, how much the players will struggle, the romanticised history of people sleeping in cars to get the chance to play to the best public course in the world.

Now if you listen to the podcasts it’s all ‘the greens are boring and easy…the course isn’t tough at all…’ etc etc.

Human nature I guess.

I think the mythology around Bethpage regarding it's difficulty was shot at this RC. I suspect the next time they hold a tournament it will be brutal, they will want their reputation back.

Yes of course, but that can all be ignored if the individual chooses to ignore it. Or they can read it and laugh. If Fitzpatrick wishes to engage with BCD on his comments then that’s up to him…but he doesn’t have to. Ignoring or laughing at the bully is often the best way to deal with them.

Perhaps you’re very thin skinned! I’ve watched what he said and he hasn’t bullied him imo. For mocking someone to be bullying there has to be an intention to verbally harm him and that doesn’t come across to me in what’s been said at all.

Not necessarily so - the recipient of the verbal jibe can feel bullied even when the perpetrator doesn't mean it to be taken so.

Like I said clearly got a thinner skin than me! I’m not seeing it or buying it !

Edit: nor it seems is Fitzy, direct quote from NBC interviews! Perhaps people need to stop being offended or claiming bullying on other people’s behalf’s in society as a whole!

Matt Fitzpatrick was not offended by Bryson DeChambeau, but he did express concern that DeChambeau's long-hitting style was making a "mockery" of the game by taking the skill out of it. DeChambeau, in turn, took Fitzpatrick's comments as a compliment. The two have since communicated and Fitzpatrick has indicated there is no bad blood between them, with DeChambeau even offering him advice on swing speed!

Not saying the MF would take it that way - but my original comment was actually about the reporter writing that fireworks would ensue as a result of BDC comments rather than the comments themselves.

And you believe everything the media says!

Yet didn’t you also say it’s easy to ignore what the media writes if you choose to. Can’t have it both ways mate, you can’t says it’s easy to ignore in one sentence and then call it bullying or mockery in the next. So which is it ignore what they say or claim BDC is being a bully?

We all know reporters these days are near on all full of tripe and doing what they can for a soundbite or click bait such is the modern world of media. It’s crass and often poorly represented! Anywhooo have a nice day

What are your thoughts on McIlroy saying ‘Eff You’ Phil - directed at Mickelson in the 1st Full Swing documentary - surely those comments are much more caustic than anything we’re using here to try and smear Bryson?

I’m not posting about the BDC comments…I commented on the author of the reporting of them talking of them starting fireworks - I get it’s just typical ‘click-bait’ stuff…but it irritates.
