Ryder Cup 2025 - All matters

From an American Journalist,
B&B POV: No one will ever say that the 2025 Ryder Cup wasn’t epic.

The Euros emasculated the Americans Friday and Saturday in epic, record-breaking fashion. Then, the Americans on Sunday nearly pulled off the greatest comeback in the history of the event, eventually losing a close one.

Finally, the American fans acted like the biggest jackals in the history of sport, embarrassing every respectable golf fan who attended the event in person or watched on TV—an epic failure in maintaining public decorum. In the end, the event had more highs and lows than any other sporting event this author has ever witnessed. Congrats to Rory, Rahm, Tommy, and the rest of the boys from across the pond.

What a weird comparison! Bit like saying why’s there more football hooligans at a a footy match than at the local crown green bowling club!

To answer your weird analogy because there are more young knobheads with a penchant and immaturity for a scrap at a night club than buying laminate wood flooring the local B&Q, the alcohol hasn’t changed who they are they were a prat before they had a drink !

I’ve been sat in the sun drinking rum all day whilst my wife sips on cocktails by the pool but guess what I don’t feel the need to shout profanities and try to scrap with others round the pool simply because I’ve had a few drinks and my wife isn’t trying to stab someone with her stilettos ! Why not you ask considering in your mind alcohol is the cause of it all! Well because neither of us are a knob!

I’ll reiterate, alcohol does not cause someone that’s already an idiot to behave like an idiot, yes it may lower there inhibitions a little but that person was already an idiot and would have behaved like than anyway!

Was the woman paid by the PGA shouting F You Rory drunk! No she wasn’t she was just another pathetic excuse of a human being. Plus apportioning the blame to alcohol completely diminishes any responsibility on the people who did it the first place and removes all blame from those that weren’t drinking but also shouting the abuse !

Right off to have another cocktail and find someone to abuse about what flooring they’re buying in B&Q 😒😂
Your wife has been sipping cocktails by the bar all day in her stilettos. 😻
Are you James Bond?
The rest of your post was just background noise after you published that image.

Yeah, that's what he claims or maybe that's what he wishes.
Come on Lucifer, you know the rules!

Photographs ................................. or it didn't happen. ;)

What I found strange when I heard it was “ New Yorkers are a brash bunch when it comes to sport”. Brash is the last name I would have used. But it was said in a way that kinda tried to excuse the behaviour of some of the American/ New York fans. If it was known the fans would be like that. Why hold it there?
One other thing, I am not wholly convinced that most of those *obshites actually play golf.
For me , the sad thing is that a Ryder cup that is up there with historic past Ryder cups will be wrongly remembered for the actions of a few bloody foul mouthed morons.

Oh, she's taken her shoes off. ;)

But more seriously, what are your first impressions of the place.
It does look pretty good, I must say.
Sorry about that 🤣

First impressions so been here since Saturday, all I can say is “wow”. 25 min transfer from Airport to hotel, the hotel appears out of literally nowhere like a medieval fort in the Sahara. It’s absolutely stunning , the building is hard to describe it’s just a masterpiece.

You can do adults only but this time of year it’s really not needed, we didn’t bother in the end and I’ve see a grand total of 3 kids across the whole complex. Main pool has swim up bar, jacuzzis hundreds of sun beds. But we haven’t ventured to that one yet maybe tomorrow there is one right next to our room that is an infinity pool with views directly out across the ocean. The beach is 3 paces from the pool! The ocean is often red flag due to the waves but I’ve ventured in and would only recommend going in properly to a strong swimmer but you can walk in along the edge and Marvel at the waves that crash in against the untouched white sands.

Foods brilliant, we’ve got a few different restaurants booked for this week along with sunset beach dinner out to a local Reggae bar with traditional African entertainment on Saturday. All I can say is go for it mate we’re already considering rebooking, I’m an African coast line convert 👌

Hotel is having a little refurb sometime next year , not that it needs it as it’s beautiful but more to keep up with times and keep ahead of things. I’ll give you a full run down when I get back via msg and send you some pics so you get a feel for the place 👍

I didn't keep it but one of those parody sites had a meme (from memory)

Captain Bradley bemoaning the envelope/injury rule.
Hovland sitting on the floor, looking 'relaxed' -
" well I think Keegan does have a point , actually that's half a point! "

The comments on it from people not realising it was a bit of fun, as usual were enlightening.

Good stats @Orikoru Always interesting to see that type of thing, puts some of it into perspective. I didn't see any player choke yesterday, they were just beaten by better players, by the finest of margins on the day. When BDC came back against Fitzpatrick, he just played ridiculously well, holed every putt. Not a lot you can do about that. Fair play to Fitz for holding on on the last hole, could easily have caved.

Strange post. Fitzpatrick is not an 18 handicapper, he’s a professional golfer, playing a course set up to be easy. He could have made some birdies.

He was 5 up, he should have been able to park the bus and see off Bryson. I think his nerves got the better of him. Some people might call that choking.

I think he was drained after the first 2 days and had nothing left in the tank. Felt like a lot of the European team were exhausted after sprinting out of the blocks on day one and then enduring the cauldron of day two. Guys like Rahm were running on empty after a super human performance on the first two days.

So you are comparing a relaxing time spent by the pool with your loved one to a drunk American at the Ryder Cup on home soil with his mates, surrounded by 1000s of other like minded frustrated people trying to put the Europeans off by hurling abuse because they were losing badly?
And my analogy was weird?
Of course, alcohol wasn't completely to blame but in the circumstances it looks as if it didn't help.

Even the MC was partially the crowds fault the day before she tried to start some US supporting chants (cringey as they were ) and she got booed out the stadium 😂 she was just trying to have an easy day by giving them what the wanted on Saturday

She was still massively in the wrong though not defending her she stoked an already burning fire
