In the grand scheme of things, we should be able to discuss the orange one turning up at the Ryder up. However you describe the forum very well. As the funny little clowns on here would make the Yank spectators at the Ryder cup look like innocent nursery children and this thread would be locked inside an hour.
That aside I prefer to focus on a big ass whuping than discuss Prez Don Tango.

That’s what I’d rather see, obviously. I’m a golf fan, first and foremost.

But imagine the press and media coverage if Europe got to 14.5 points and Luke Donald called upon his remaining players to concede, and then told the watching world in his press conference precisely why, citing examples. It’d be huge.

I must confess, after this RC, Im actually dreading how it will be in Ireland in 2 yrs time.

Technically once 14.5 is reached (or 14 for retention) Europe could concede every remaining match. They wouldn’t but the option is there.

Not sure that holds as much impact as walking off to demonstrate abuse in the modern world it is not acceptable, at any level.

I'd rather they make the statement of the biggest winning margin in modern history despite the levels of abuse.

Having said that, I did bet on 14.5-13.5 being the final score so would be amazing if they did that too.

I think I saw Fleetwood with his young son last night as he left.

If players like McIlroy have family, friends and their young children at the event, it just makes the abuse even more appalling.

They have from what I read in the paper. The abuse was vile , calling McIroys wife names and she being in the crowd watching her husband play.
I don’t want to hear anyone criticise Rory for what he said when he told them to shut up. His discipline was brilliant because how many of us would have tolerated vile abuse about your wife when she was there to hear it.

Perhaps the venue will have to be neutral in future? Japan etc?
As Billy says, how far away are we from physical attack on players, and I don’t just mean punches!

Agreed, nor with the many decent entry fee paying fans who have simply gone to watch the golf.

But what a statement it would make.

Agree, but perhaps the decent fans should tell the morons to shut up when they say these vile things. And when these morons are detected by the security, they should be unceremoniously ( euphemistic) thrown out…., identified, and then their golf clubs , if they belong to one, should be instructed to throw them out.
To those who say ‘you can’t do that’…….make it a condition of entry to the event that that may be an outcome for being dismissed from the event for unruly behaviour.
