I've been out practicing my putting all night and discovered i was setting up with very open shoulders. Once i corrected it my stroke immediately improved, as did the number of putts holed.

Anyway, before every putt i set the putter shaft across the front of my shoulders as a visual aid to help ensure they were square, before addressing the ball.

The question is, could i do this during a competitive round? I'm just curious, i probably wouldn't anyway

Cheers

If this is the same as aligning your shoulders with a regular club whilst taking your stance, then I hope it's legal (don't see why not) as I see lots of people do exactly this.
