As the title really, is it against the rules to walk to course prior to a competition round. Obviously we know it can't be played on the same day.

My question is if I was to walk the course the morning of a comp with a gps and a shot saver book to make notes, providing I wasn't using any clubs or playing would I be doing anything against the rules

I did that today for a tournament i've got in April. I hurt my shoulder and couldn't play. But I can't see how doing it on the day changes anything.

Winning must really matter! Nothing against the rules I know off but seems a little ott if there are already stroke savers or yardage markers available on the course.

Brandy , our stroke saver isn't the best and the markers are only from 150yrds, no 50, 100 or 200.

My theory was if I had a new stroke saver and updated with my own markers I could give myself markers from 200 in which the card doesn't cover.

Regarding winning being important, it's a inter club knock out so I'd rather go Ott to know I done my bit ;)

If its matchplay you can play the course before hand.
