The last time I cheered England on was Euro 96, they had to beat Holland by 4 goals and a Scotland win vs the Swiss for Scotland to qualify. With 10 minutes to go England are 4-0 up and Scotland are winning. Then England concede the softest of goals to knock us out. I had the misfortune of watching with a load of England fans who thought it was hilarious ...

I've just commented at home on both of those points. The forward clearly got giddy, didn't think. The kicker, tonight anyway, isn't good enough for this level. Not at kicking, not commenting on the rest of his game.

We kept kicking it as well . Some really bad decisions at the end there. It was time to keep it tight, shove it up the jumpers of the forwards.

Some shocking defending tonight , Genge had a night from hell , poor from Pollock at the end and also before that when they claimed the kick off

I thought that was actually our best game for tackling all 6 Nations. Genge was stupid, but his overall game and ferocity was excellent. The ref was another inconsistant. Ignored a French neck roll, very quick advantage to us that was in the run up to a French try and carded us quicker than the French considering the number of pens against us compared to the French.
Van Portfleet was the huge reason they scored at the end. Kicking away possession when youre in the 22 with a man advantage straight to their speedsters was the ultimate reason we lost. Hold onto the ball and grind your way out, and we win.
