Presuming tha David Cameroon will give us a bank holiday in mid week, would be a good opportunity/excuse for an event somewhere.
Anyone got any hints on when the wonderful event is likely to be ?

I'm sure we can come up with some creative theme or prizes ... a mug with the happy couple on it for a hole in one', maybe we could find the closest course to Bucklebury (where she comes from) and play there - i am sure there will be celebratory drinks going free ....

Seriously - just any excuse for a day off work at the course :)

There have been a number of guesses, though the bookies are looking at mid- August. Court commentators are talking spring and one was more specific July 12th - which is a Tuesday.

Since most of those in-doors (hereinafter TIDs) will want to watch I'm all for this.

I think it would be nice to have a day off to mark this important day in British history and of the traditions of the Royal Family.
To stay at home and watch the wedding procession and service on TV or even travel to the Cathedral and see the sevice live, I think would be a marvellous way to spend a day.

A 10 oclock tee time will be fine for me though :D

Some of us will probably have to work too.
So much for a day off for all.....

I can confirm, 100% that I will be working....

Whatever day they decide on.

Prince Charles is said to be ecstatic and "over the moon" with the news that his only Son is getting married.

My guess is courses will be closed, as a mark of respect. This is the sort of stupid thing they do.

There will be trouble if my club closes the course on a mid-summer day unless the freaking wedding is taking place on the 18th green.

Friday April 29th is the confirmed date and also confirmed it will be a bank holiday :)

For you it might

You may have to work, but I'm betting you'll have a tv on in the corner waiving your little flag

and drinking your tea out of your comemorative mug, no doubt with a little tear rolling down your up-turned cheek.

Yeah right.
It will be a typical bank holiday opening. 10-4. Sit there on my Jack Jones ('cos the service department won't be open) all day, not see a soul. Just go to get the keys out to lock up at 3.55pm and about 5 couples will all walk onto the forecourt at the same time....

Happened on Saturday. Did not see one customer all day, and then at 5.00pm, just as I was locking up two couple walked on to look at cars. In the pitch dark.

that's not the reason for the bank holiday, it's because it's the 3rd Annual Save The Frogs Day!
