Are City really after Barkley?? If they were they're not naive enough to believe £25m would get him.
And I believe City want Sterling about as much as I believe Real Madrid wanted him. He wouldn't even warm their bench.

I'm with you on that, talk of the town is they are looking to off load Di Maria to fund some new signings. Offload Di Maria to buy Sterling? He is going to be a great player in a couple of years, but not at that level yet.

The main problem these days with football is that there is no loyalty anymore, players are just out to get as much money as they possibly can.

Now before someone says said players are just trying to secure their future, you cannot tell me that earning 10 thousand a week, would mean they would have to live like a pauper upon retirement, and that moving clubs so they can earn 50 thousand a week means they can live comfortably.

I'll say it again there is no loyalty in football.

Loyalty is a two-way street.

Managers get sacked and players get sold or released when it suits the club. It has never been any different in the 50 odd years I have followed the game.

Fans are the only people that show loyalty, no matter how misguided that may be, and often they stop attending matches when results are not too good.


I have said on here many times before that players are professionals/mercenaries and will, by definition, go where they can get the best deal for their talents.
