I'm having a thunk.

Which hurts on a Sunday morn.

It goes something like this.

Everyone that knows about golf says that Rory has the most fantastic swing.

Tiger has spent the last ten years with everyone saying that he has the most fantastic swing.

But now Tiger has hit his troubles, his head dipping, body churning swing is causing him to loose form big time. When he plays well and his swing works he is magnificent.

But now his swing has deserted him he can't hit a cow's bum and all that.

Unlike Jack, whose swing was as simple as he could make it - he could always manufacture some kind of score with any sort of form. Unlike Faldo, whose swing never let him down - it was his putting that finished him off.

I'm beginning to wonder if this head dipping frenzy that the great players of today use is actually the best way to swing a club.

Is it not more of a case that these guys are great golfers despite their faulty swings, rather than because of their great swings?

I'm not sure....... I know I don't like the head dipping tiger does. When I inadvertently drop my head my shots are worse than they are normally.

I don't think that is really the case, Tiger has hit it long and wild all his career, he just gets the job done from fairway to green. His swing has been up for criticism for years.

Rory's swing is definitely praised, and he has a similar head dip to Tiger.

Do you think Rory's will stand up to ten to fifteen years of tough competitive golf at the top, top level?

I agree. Tiger has never in my experience been renowned for having a great swing.

The thing that made Tiger such a huge success is as mentioned above, his approach play along with his Supreme putting was what made a vast difference to him.

You can have the most beautiful, precise, repetitive, text-book swing in the world but if you cant put it close and if your putting isnt mustard, you will be nowhere.
