Nearly six years in prison.
Apparently they were sending him to Wandsworth!! Not exactly going to be easy for him (not that prison should be easy). I heard somewhere the sentence has been referred as too lenient

Prison sentence's don't seem to be consistent enough across the board.
Look at the pitiful sentence (18 months) Andy Coulson has just been given for phone hacking and the illegal payments to Police Officers for "information". It's disgusting.
Or maybe being a close friend of the prime minister gets you a very lenient sentence.

Much of it did see a bit circumstantial and the kind of thing that happens every weekend in city bars. I didnt follow all of the trial so I guess some assaults were more serious to give a six year sentence.
Not sure how many 7 and 8 years old kick about in the bars down your way.

Yes you do but you prefer to make your insults on the site where I cant reply. The part I said in the first sentence was separate to what I said in the second. And you know it!
Some of the assaults were no more than petty groping, something that does infact go on every weekend in city bars and you know it. What you refer to with children is completely different and you know it. Still keeping up?

On reading that any doubt I have had on the accusations, or any sympathy I felt towards him, has vanished.
I do not pretend any 'childhood despoiled' over-emotional stuff spouted by some who were Harris fans in his hey day - but I have to admit to a little sad 'oh well' regret in having to consign (yet another) part of my childhood and youth TV enjoyment to the dustbin.

Really upsetting reading, I really had been hoping it had been something like 'simple groping' that just crossed the line, but what's written there is so far beyond the line it's untrue, absolutely no excuses for any of that. Disgusting, 5 years and 9 months isn't enough let alone the (probably) 3 years he'll actually do.
I've just read the charges!!!!!!! what a F ing scum bag, i only home he's put in with some lags who teach him what its like to be Vulnerable.

I read the court remarks and they have been made based on the fact he has been found guilty, so the judge is obviously summing up on the assumption of that. The whole "guilty" verdict still doesn't sit true with me and this article really hits on a few key points to what I find difficult to grasp.

That's a very interesting read and if that is all true and factual it beggars belief he was found guilty and sentenced to over 5 years in prison.
The writers last line is also thought provoking; I do know that if all it takes to send a man to prison and ruin his life is an uncorroborated accusation from 45 years ago, then no man is safe under British justice.
I was reading the charges someone posted above and actually had to stop as the judges comments were so graphic I couldnt read more about this poor innocent wee girls traumas.
Then I read in this other article posted by Woody69 that they had an adult sexual relationship for 14 years and in the 90's demanded £25,000 or she would expose their relationship. Is all this just fabricated or are these actual facts corroborated in court?
