I think some of you guys should start lobbying your clubs to get this simple situation fixed.

Saw these in B&Q today, 1 around the bottom of each pin cut to around 3 inches and job done, you have perfectly safe holes and nothing bounces out.
(Top tip, cut each 3 inch piece in half lengthways, you just slot each half inside the cup around the pin. )

Good point. I am assuming with the device to lift the ball back out and the hole back at full depth, the hole will drain much better and more like normal

I use these NB ball retriever putter grips they don't damage the hole but I don't think this type are made anymore.

Of course the hole is at full depth, that's the whole point of the foam, to stop the ball dropping.
The drainage will be exactly the same.

Felt robbed twice today by the inserts, ball seemed to roll round on it and then come out.

Didn’t give them to myself though, shouldn’t have hit them so hard if I wanted it to stay in.
