Retirement

Bump.

Well well. Another cock up. Monthly payment was not made. Rang them. Er oh er, right sorry er, (basically) give us 5 days and you'll get it. I left it 7 (5 working days). No sign. Rang again. Oddly got the same lad on the phone. He said it would take another 5 days as he said it would take 10 working days to sort. Calmly, well I was starting to shake, told him to get their house in order, and my money in the back, and whilst I'm on, get someone to e mail me to tell me what the hell had gone on and what they were going to do to ensure it wasn't going to happen again. Ok? OK. I then fired off an e-amil to customer complaints (yup I have their direct e-mail as they messed up before and sent me 50 quid as an appology), explaining what had gone on and the orginal e-mail from the lad in question where it states 5 working days to get it sorted.
Lets see what happens now.

I twigged just recently that if I manage to get my hc down to say 5 in next year or two, then in a few years time (all being well 🙏) it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that I might well be able to knock it round in my age (maybe just once - and off front tees - let’s not be too unreasonable) … 🙄

I’d take that as a benefit of retirement…👍
Maybe if I reach 100.............

Well, I got an e mail yesterday detailing my complaint and each step to resolve it. Damn good e mail actually. Stating that training in that department was needed, you think???? Anyhoo, lovely person has worked out the money I've missed out on due to this error, and also £100 to say sorry. I'm getting more from them than my NS&I funds. :D:D:D

Good job your retried so you have time to chase this up. 😖👍

I had a phone conversation with Government backed Pensionwise on Friday . It’s a free 1hour chat with a pension expert ( won’t give any financial advice) . If you are not pension savvy like me it’s well worth going . One thing I did learn is there are certain Annuities where they can be left to a named person. I thought your pension died with you but not always the case.
