I cant help but wonder how we would feel if we were the surviving partner and our partner/spouse were the one in question?
I suspect some of the glib replies wouldn't be forthcoming then.

Again meaning what, of course those on the end of something not so nice won't appreciate it, but really, comedy is made of other peoples misery all the time, of course if you wish to join the preisthood and hold that holy higher ground good for you, I don't think we need preaching at though.

IIRC the moral dilemma that was raised here was that of the friend asked to provide support - and nothing to do with the morality or whatever of the person involved in the secret affair and asking for the support.
