I'm sure like many clubs at this time of the year, we play quite a few team competitions rather than individual events.
We have a problem with our bowmaker competitions when a team member drops out at the last minute. Rather than eliminating the team we allow the remaining members to play and add a "ghost" player's scored before calculating the team score. The ghost is a random person selected on the day from one of the other teams.
This produces some interesting results but very few become competitive in the competition.
Be interested to know what other people do in these circumstances?
