I think I may have a touch of this.

I've been doing a bit of a job change over the last few days (More computer based) and have noticed a small patch of redness and minor swelling in my wrist and forearm area along with a dull ache. I also have a dull ache towards my elbow on occasion.

I went to the course last night and could not hit a thing. Not through pain or soreness but I could feel my body "protecting" my wrist againt the impact on the ball and turf. I decided after 2 holes it was best to leave it an came off the course.

Has anyone had R.S.I?

Apart from rest, any idea of a treatment (Other than ice) and a rough healing time?

Thanks in advnace

Yes, I missed the beginning of last year (3 months) from January with the RSI they call "golfer's elbow". Ironically I never told the doc I played golf, it was more to do with working on one of my cars, replacing the engine and using a ratchet to tighten bolts, the rotational strain on my elbow caused a stretch and strain to the tendons around the elbow and a lot of pain.
Rest, anti-inflammatory such as Ibuprofen and some exercises (you can get these from the web) to stretch out the injured tendon/ligament GENTLY will help no end.
My one piece of advice that I can't stress enough though... DON'T PLAY GOLF, as traumatic as that sounds I ignored the signs and instead of 1 month it took 3 months.

Thought you got it from, "hacking out of the rough". Sorry, but do rest it, I didn't. It took nearly 12 months to go. It got so bad at one time. If I pick things up in that hand I keep dropping them, just had no grip.

I think I might have this where my thumb bone joins my wrist on my right hand. Hurt it a long time ago and used to tape it up when playing rugby to stop it bending too much. Never had a problem with golf, until recently I noticed the pain again when playing on the ipad. Funny thing is it doesn't seem to hurt at all when gripping/swinging a golf club. I just hope my body/brain isn't trying to protect it subconciously.

Can't really rest at the moment due to commitments with summer pairs and volvo matchplay. What with this being my first proper summer season will see what happens and hope it gets better over time.
