Red arrows

Best place I saw an air show was up the concrete tower at Harworth Colliery watching Finningly air show, (now Robin Hood). The views were amazing and free.

some good Videos on YouTube of air shows filmed from beach head.

Just outta interest, we have young Brasley Tash this Sunday and I notice the red arrows are due to perform at the great north run 1.00pm ish. Obviously it's gonna be busy but where would be the best place to view the show. If it's on due to weather. Cheers me dears.

I met them in May and they all came across as nice guys. Even the Kiwi....

Oh their public image is perfect

They do winter training camps in Cyprus

They practise out over the sea and in the bay and it's great to watch

One day they were flying around whilst me and my boss were doing some work on our remote site in Akotiri when we noticed they kept flying through the no fly zone ( dangerous and effected comms ) - so my boss phoned the head of the airfield and plans to inform him what was happening - I then watched them all land. About 10 mins later I saw Pajero screaming up the road to our secure compound gate - it was "Red 1 " - he got out and started shouting down the intercom demanding to be let in and speak to the "insert insult here" who phoned Satco ( head of airfield ) - my boss then proceeded to inform him that he wasn't allowed in due to security clearance - response was " Im Red 1 - don't you know what that means" - boss response - "it means your parents didn't like you to name you that !! - I couldn't stop laughing and he ended to taking it all the way to the Station CO who backed us up and told him to wind his neck in

When they go out drinking they put their empty glasses in formation and calling each other - Red 1 etc . Worse than them are the blue suited "expletives" ground crew that go with them - celebrity status is appear to wear a blue suit - look like a bunch if over grown smurfs :D

There are many many more stories about how they are a complete bunch of doorknobs from lots in the RAF

They do the display at the finish over South Shields, anywhere near there you will get the show, also across the Tyne at North Shields is a good vantage point, don't forget to wave to me as I cross the finish line:whoo:

Cheers paul, Al talk to Missis T and see if she fancies it.

Driving to see City at Manchester yesterday, and was on the the rd from Mansfield to Worksop. Anyway straight in front of me going east to west at about 500-1000ft was a Vulcan bomber. I was going mad. I could not believe it. Missis Tash could not feel the moment "that's a strange looking plane, isn't it low and slow" I was screaming film it film it. I drove past and it was over my left shoulder so I lost it but she saying " oh he's put his foot down, eh, coz its goin up and you can see smoke"
god I was 10 again.
so for the next 10 miles, where's it goin, where's it from, whys it so low.
as it happens, I met me pal at City who says it's off to the Southport air show, where he lives. Says he watches it every year from his back garden. Jammy sod.

It went right over our back garden yesterday as I was mowing the lawn on its way back to Doncaster. It must of only been at about 500 ft. We're about 25 miles east of Southport.
I wondered what the hell was going on when I first saw it, an absolutely unbelievable sight, especially at that height.

Saw one going vertical with the afterburners on at an airshow in the late 60's, and the ground shaking like 'eck... awesome!

The Sparrows are based at Scampton

The Vulcan is based at Doncaster Airport

Sparrows, 😁 yer a bad man phil.

wonder why I saw them coz I was 20 mile south of Donny airport ( the way the crow/ Vulcan flies) at the time I saw it so it would of flew over Sheffield not Cuckney.
