Re-worked Songs

dont think i have no, but just played it twice and will be going again

Love the way that Debbie Allen, Bonnie Raitt, Yoyo Ma and Obama are all getting into it in the audience, the wtf look on Robert Plant's face as the curtain comes up and the reaction, particularly Jimmy Page at the end. And Jason Bonham on the kit is the icing on the cake.

Never tire of watching it.

Oh, and how good is Nancy Wilson's finger picking.

Jeff Buckley’ version of Hallelujah

Guns n Roses knockin on heavens door

Pet Shop Boys' version of Always on my mind
In music class in school we had to compare and review Elvis and the Pet Shop Boys. The worst review which called Elvis the better one got more marks than the best one calling it the other way (mine). I think the teacher was biased in his marking.

The one thing I like about the X factor, is they introduce me to songs I didn’t know before. Without Leona Lewis singing ‘run’ I didn’t know about Snow Patrol. I know it was a big knowledge gap, but there are a couple of covers and originals like hat that made it into my playlist.

Which reminds me - I just love the Pet Shop Boys version of What Have I Done to Deserve This (with Dusty singing along :love:). So that makes my three faves.

In the absence of an answer I'll post it anyway. :)

The studio original, which is bang average in my opinion;

And the live reworking, which is an absolute joy;

Sting, Little bird
Scissor Sisters, comfortably numb
Amii Stewart, Light my fire.

I can never see the point in covering a song, and singing it as a copy of the original. Take it somewhere new, or don't bother.

Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm
Word Up - Gun
Jealous Guy - Roxy Music
Kiss - Tom Jones & Art of Noise

Not strictly a cover as it’s still Elvis by a prefer the remix of a Little Less Conversation in the early 2000’s

I really like the Pet Shop Boys version, but really only for one reason. They changed the chord on 'mind' and it sounds great. Only a little thing but genius.
