Got up this morning and headed up to the club to meet up with my regular crew - it is chucking it down and, according to the forecast, set to rain the rest of the day.

Two of the four wanted to play and two didn't - preferring to head home, put the kettle on and watch the Open.

Heading off to Burstwick at lunch for a round, bit of rain wont put me off. Got to take any opportunity to play at weekends, the working week is too long to let the weather spoil it.

I've been in rush to collect my 0.1s. Today and Tomorrow were top on my list.....

Not going anywhere near the course in this weather.

If it had been a competition of any description then yes.
Friendly knock? Have you ever played in glasses when it's raining?...

I've already suggested to my partners tomorrow that there is a very good chance I'll be wimping out.

I havent played in competitions, but still go out in all weathers, but today? With golf on bbc tv all weekend? The Open wins, but if I can play tomorrow morning, then watch the golf at the club, with a beer, and if I can arrange a lift home, I will be in heaven, possibly my perfect day.

Looking at the torrent thas currently falling here in East yorks....damn good decision not to go this morning......

......however, the dog is looking forward to his usual lunchtime hours walk.....

*shakes head*

Went down at 7.30 9 of us had a coffee then it stopped so they went out and I sat out so they had 2x4's....I got a bit of abuse but the forecast was more rain.....headed home and the 2x4's got drenched in their 9 holes.

Charity on them, upstairs for thinking!

Just to clarify, the event of the day was a Pro's Betterball Stableford, no Club Comp on.

Then your a tart and should be on the course ;)

I never said I was one of the two who voted against going out.

But you're right. I did back out and I am a tart.

In my defence, I've played twice already this week and want to save my good shots for Tuesday's Volvo Matchplay second round with Macster. :D

I think if you turn up to the course then you've a duty to play. Fair enough if all want to cancel.

Personally, I would have cancelled or agreed to play before going to the course.

I'd be out there regardless. I don't even put the waterproofs on half the time, it's only water and i've worked my nuts off all week while looking forward to a round. You can only learn from it, and try out different shots you wouldn't normally. I flamin hate fair weather players, ie those that only even play comps when the weather is great. Time is too precious these days to be scared of water

I played in a friendly game this morning. Wasn't very nice so stopped after 9 as I have lots of golf this coming week to make up for it.
