Let's face it Riley is just Sam Torrance with an Aussie accent.

He offers little insight and nearly every pitch or chip shot is "smelly" in the same way that, to Sam, every good shot was "delicious".

As Henry Longhurst said many years ago "if you cannot add anything to the pictures for God's sake say nothing".

so we would go back to rubbish grounds and second best players,

We still have second best players, it's just that they are paid a lot more than they used to be. The best players go to Spain and I suspect shortly Germany. Or possibly Paris. Name me some players from the Premier League that would regularly get in the top European sides like Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich side and are better then what they have now? Then once you have said Robin Van Persie and possibly Gareth Bale name me any English players.

And despite what Sky tell you, football did exist before the Premier League came into existence. In fact I believe the Engliah national team used to be quite good at it at one stage.
