A mate has given me his R11 for a few weeks as he is out of the country.

All I can say is WOW

If I can't persuade him to part with it I am going to be £250 or so lighter shortly as I NEED this club in my bag! it reminded me a lot of the old illegal hi cor drivers in the way it seems to jump off the face. Definitely the longest driver I have hit for a long time.

Taylor Made hype all the White driver thing may be, but they have got me hooked that's for sure.

im still in a love hate with mine, when its clicking it goes a country mile (which is about a 1/3rd of timmys drives)but the 440cc head is no way as forgiving as my older 09 burner with the 460cc head. An off day with teh r11 is a bad day at the office.

The Titleist 910D2 will be mine one way or another!!

They are pretty cheep 2nd hand already, much cheeper than the R11s. I would guess I could get one for £160, Lucky I like one of the stock shaft options.

Think I better just stick to buying nappys for another few months and enjoy my 909D2, but it will be mine!

Edit: Ok maybe no £160... damn you for making me look at drivers! :D

Im with you Robobum. I'm currently creating a master plan to get my hands on one!
WHY ?there must be something good about it to have ye guys react this way ( i admit i know nothing about this club at present except it exists) im not been flippent or trying to be smart in any way here its totaly genuine curiosity ,, EZ what do you think this will add to your game ? robobum . what do yo mean by WOW?? what does it have or will it give you over your current driver ? you two guys are obviously good golfers so im just wondering what this will do for ye thats worth the price ?

Blade bang it into google ;)

3 way tuning enables you to tweak it so it's unique to you. It's comes in two lofts, 9* or 10* and with the shaft adjustment you gave the option to add 5* or take 5* away effectively meaning the 9* could be an 8.5* or 9.5* as well. When adding loft you add around 500rpm of spin, when taking loft away you take loft away so a 9.5* set up with the 9* head will produce more ball spin than a same lofted set up with the 10* head. This is the flight control technology of FCT

Taking that into account is also the fact you can adjust the weights in the head to promote draw or fade - mwt

Also as a bonus you got the asp adjustable sole plate which enables you to tweak club head position at address, ie open , neutral or closed

It's definately a tool in the right hands

First off, it just suits my eye. Which is a big part of inspiring confidence well before you get as far as hitting it. I like the whole White thing and black face (which gives great visual feedback on where the strike was btw) and it just felt "right" as soon as I took a swish with it.

As for performance - it really goes!! When flushed it just seems to hang in the air forever and, as I said above, it seemed to jump off the face akin to the old illegal springy drivers.

Without getting fitted, it looks like I've stumbled on a good head, loft, shaft combo for me.

Funny you added loft as I did too, same on the sold plate but as I tend to roll the hands slightly due to a slightly strong grip I put the heavier weight in the toe which helped. On a good day I think I could maybe drop the lift to 9* standard.

I made a thread about it here mate How much would you pay for a few extra yards?

I think it will add an extra 17 yards and a more consistent ball flight, which is probably mainly down to the loft/shaft combination as much as its down to the R11 itself, but the R11 is what I was hitting, and I just fell for it...

I really wasnt expecting too either as the thought of having a white driver really put me off, but it grew on me a lot.
