PSI Scores Input

End of the day PSI has no relevance to anything.....it's just admin, doing the committees job for them (which is a massive help!). Like most, we have a box, card goes in the box and it's returned. No alterations after that. Simple solution, no arguments etc but you do hear of cards being returned by "handing them to the pro" or "handed to committee bloke in bar" etc. Just can't see why this is done when it can (and does) lead to so many issues and grey areas.

Also, we've had PSI for around 16/17 years and I'm absolutely amazed that in this day and age some clubs still operate without it. I can maybe understand for small clubs with small numbers (our ladies section have never taken the leap of faith but only have around 20 entries a week) but surely any reasonably sized club with a significant field in comps would benefit massively and could easily afford the few hundred quid a year for the IT? Still, each to their own!

The Committee are responsible for specifying when a card is considered to be returned (eg placed in a box, handed to recorder, leaving recording area).
Under the Rules of Golf they cannot insist that players enter their scores into a computer system but may make a club regulation to that effect. No golfing penalty may be applied (eg penalty strokes or DQ) but disciplinary action may be taken (eg playing suspension).
