After watching Bill Turnbull talking again about his prostate cancer on BBC this morning, I thought it might be worth opening a thread here.
If you don't know about this already, then you need to know because it's still a big killer of men.
In 2007 I became a patient and thanks to treatment I'm still here.
Now blokes don't go to the doctor. So what to do is contact the help line for information even if you don't have issues right now.

It's here: https://prostatecanceruk.org/get-support

Ask about what symptoms to look out for.
Ask what age you should be tested and then how frequently after that.

PSA tests, biopsies, scans will reveal all if necessary. Then the pathway to survival can begin.

If we're going to talk about cancer, lets talk about all cancers. The simple message is listen to your body. You know it better than anyone, and you know when something isn't right. A niggle for a few days, as we're getting older is probably just old age but if after a few days you're still not right go and see your doctor.

I was one of the lucky ones a couple of years back. My body niggled big time very quickly. I was lucky that one of the tumours was in a place that caused serious issues. I've always been of the opinion that says the body will usually heal itself but in reality that only applies to the common cold and the odd muscle twinge.

The sooner you see the doc the better your chances of recovery.

Be aware of smoking, poor diet, family history.
And this one (quote from a website):

"Disruptions in the body’s “biological clock,” which controls sleep and thousands of other functions, may raise the odds of cancers of the breast, colon, ovaries and prostate. Exposure to light while working overnight shifts for several years may reduce levels of melatonin, encouraging cancer to grow."

It may not be just coincidence that prior to my prostate cancer I was working nights and taking long haul flights. So I did have sleep deprivation.
