Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

You might be right was easier to win then as there was no WHS 50 pointers being returned 🤣

Could be that year he was injured I’m getting old the memory isn’t what is was and it’s always been crap 🤣

He has had a great career there’s no denying that.
2017 (thanks wiki) was the year he changed from Nike to Taylormade. He had a persistent rib injury, and took a 3 month break at end. Was also the season he changed his caddy

Eddie Pepp finished 12th in Q School. Birdied the last 4 to get in by 2. 😁

As mad as it is, don’t think I’ve ever been as invested in a round of golf, refreshing the page every hour for their bloody 3 hole updates.

What a finish.
Absolutely deserved too he’s been playing good golf even if he doesn’t admit it much on the podcast

His interview afterwards was still a bit down, taking about what a struggle the game is. Even though he's just played super stuff.
Sounds like a guy that's suffering mentally and finding it hard to find positives even in good situations.

Watched the first round coverage and credit where its due Rory played well and looked a much more complete and controlled performance from him never seen him control his iron and wedge game that well was a much more balanced round.

Penge looked like it was just an event to far for him trying to force to many shots, bad decision making and woeful pitching even managed to chunk one 20yards !

Tommy looked class again though his all striking and distance control was just immense and his putting has been so god this year. Would love to see him win this event after missing out last week.

Well the last round counts as well 🤷‍♂️

Certainly still managed to win a lot of competitions

The point is that Rory has a lot of "backdoor" top tens, where he is not in contention on Sunday but climbs up the leaderboard with an excellent final round. The scores for the week will show he only finished 3 or 4 shots off the lead, but in reality he wasn't in contention to win.

Ultimately, this doesn't matter. I'm sure Rory doesn't measure success by consistent high finishes, or by being in contention. He is a winner and counts the W's.

Back door , front door , side door - all irrelevant imo

A tournament is based on 4 rounds and where you finished is cumulative of those 4 rounds , coming 3rd based on a good 4th round is no different to coming 3rd based on a good 1st round

Rory doesn’t seem to win too many wire to wire events and it does take him until the weekend at times to get going , but that’s probably the way he works , it shouldn’t be looked as a negative
