Pretty Annoyed

supposed to be playing a open at swanston today. But at 9.30 am 1 hour before my tee off when I called the pro shop the guy was very inconclusive but did say course closed because of rain and fog but i found the results 10 minutes ago. why me!!!!

Ah pretty annoyed I think I would be raging!
Think it's worse phoning up and getting duff information, than turning up to find the course closed.

I reckon you should be back onto them for a refund of entry fee. Small consolation I'm sure but if some numpty was in the shop giving out duff info I'm sure it won't just be you that missed out.

Maybe the pro knew you and just didn't want you there . Hard lines mate just the way of it, the pro probably thought he was doing you a favour and was as surprised as you that the greenstaff opened the course. Greens committee at some clubs put pressure on greenstaff to open the course for Open competitions as they bring in extra revenue.
