Posting in the for sale section

I listed some stuff for sale yesterday, first time I've used this section of the forum. Made the mistake of not reading the rules and listed my items asking for sensible offers.

Promptly had my bits felt by the mods, just wondered why you have to state a price for an item? Anybody know why?
