My cost went up since I bought my JPX850 Forged irons. It was a great decision though!

I'd recommend them to any golfer off less than an 18 handicap

Clubs are about £1400 but with the cost of accessories like Sky Caddy, and trolly it's about £2,000

My last couple sets of irons weren't purchased from new so saved £££ on them. Combined with the bag, putter, wedges, woods, etc all make up somewhere between £500-£750 mark.

I tend not to change equipment too readily, for instance my fairway woods and rescue are from 2007. My putter is even older. The AP2 irons are from 2010. The driver is from last year. So I have a mix of old and new.

Interesting results when you consider that when the cost of playing golf/equipment is mentioned as a barrier to entry, there are many that respond with the fact you can pick up cheap clubs and get playing very cheaply. Yet only 8% of those polled have a bag worth less than £500.

I'm probably in for about £1,200-£1,300 for clubs and the bag. Trolley, Skycaddie and various other bits and bobs and I'll be over £2,000.

Which is quite scary. The really scary part is what it's actually all worth if I sell it. I'd be surprised if I'd get more than £500-£600.

For the clubs its just over the £1k mark but that is also beneifitting from buying my TM burners a couple of days after the burner 2.0's were launched so got them at a very good price.

To get into golf you could pick up a set cheap as you like.

Mine around £500, tend not to buy new as I like to tinker with different clubs!

Wedges and 5w only thing in my bag that are new.

Its hard to say the value of my bag since everything I've got has either been bought in a HUGE sale or the rest came from birthday\christmas presents and money. Out of my whole bag I only paid £149 for my irons (new in box Callaway X-Hot 5 - pw) and my £89 for my Oddessy Versa White Hot putter. I got a Callaway X-Hot 4 Hybrid for my birthday, and because of christmas money I only put £100 towards my X-Hot Driver and 3Wood (£199 for both from AG).

I reckon I would have paid alot more if I a) bought it all myself, and b) got everything at RRP.

That's true. I'm a hacker but decided to get some better equipment when I csame into a little money. My previous set-up cost £200 second hand.
I play with my brother whose whole set-up cost £80 second hand.

clubs cost like £1450 thats for Bio cell driver and 3w, titliest 913h hybrid, mizuno forged ez irons 4-pw, x3 tour trusty cobra wedges and a scotty newport.

If you buy a full set of new gear 13/14 clubs it soon adds up

I am 14 years old and in my opinion, the cost of your clubs doesnt matter. I have lowered my handicap to 15 from 28 since the beginning of 2014 with second hand irons and second hand woods.

If any one wants to Nick it, it's in the boot of my car.Should fetch a couple of hundred second hand!
