Hi all,

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and enjoyed the NYE celebrations. This month, we want to know how much you spent to put together your 14-club set. Have you recently splashed out on a new set? Are you still using the same sticks as when you started? Do you often change, or do you find clubs you like and stick with them?

As always, responses are much appreciated.

Nick

Current set up was about a grand I would say. I have had these Irons (mp53) for 3 years I think, I cant see any reason to change. Just got a new driver though.

Less than £500! To progress i probably need to upgrade my gear but to make it worthwhile upgrading my gear i probably need to play more! There's a vicious circle in there somewhere.

Mine has just edged over the £1000 barrier - but that's the benefit of having a teaching pro as a cousin otherwise the cost would have been a lot more.

Updated my insurance in Nov, total gesr value was over £2000.00,
Clubs alone were £1300.00

In the £1500 to £2000 bracket. Last investment was not in gear but in a set of lessons - resulting in a 3 shot handicap reduction! Not as much fun as buying new gear, but very effective.....

Not quite a grand - but if I'd have had to pay for my driver it would be over 1200.
Of course I've spent more than that but that's another story.........

About £1300, but that just for the clubs themselves.

Carry bag, cart bag, motocaddy trolley, powercaddy push trolley, clothes & shoes etc... easily another grand on top with all that lot chucked in.

Totting that up just sent a chill down my spine. Glad the Mrs doesn't read this.

If it's just the 14 clubs then about the grand mark I reckon. If my trolley setup got nicked from outside the clubhouse then well over 2 grand to replace the clubs, trolley, tour bag, laser and GG waterproofs

Slightly over £1k for all the clubs taking into account the retail cost of my driver, which was a prezzy off TaylorMade :whoo:

Nick,

Sticks only or incl trolley, lasers, GPS, waterproofs (i.e. nicked from front of club house cost)?

I reckon just under £900, I got bargains on all my woods, except my driver which is by far the most expensive part of my set up, my Orka irons were very reasonably, plus a couple of Vokey wedges and an Odyssey Putter.

Just on £1000. Irons and putter have been in the bag for about five years, rest probably two/three years. Most expensive by a long way was my Titleist 910 driver.

My irons were £300 brand new, putter £50 but my hybrid and driver are very old models and cost next to nothing from my golf pro!

do have spent less than £500 on my gear! Maybe this is a good reason to maybe upgrade my driver ;)

About £1400 worth of clubs. Its rare any lasts more than 3 years in the bag, although the putter is about 10yrs old. By the time you add in GG waterproofs etc and the Motocaddy M1(lithium) you can add at least another £500.

Irons are the only clubs bought as new (apart from the Dunlop but as that was only around a tenner) and the rest are second hand so probably close to £750.
Even if I added in the trolley (£10 ebay), bag (comp prize), GPS (on-line comp prize) waterproofs, shoes and gloves I'd still be below £1K.
