The value of your clubs vs handicap.

£1000* (inc £25 putter bought new in 1985 :D)
£800

Only club I have bought for much less than RRP is second hand driver £50 rather than £250.

*includes £430 worth of new stuff bought from my pro. I'm guessing he was selling at less than the RRP but don't know what the RRP for them would be - maybe 20% higher than his price so guessing £100 more in total.

Sorry can't answer this (honestly); the missus might be watching.

"yes dear, just coming!"

H'mm.

I like a bit of bargain exotica (with an X. Picky about with R!) so the $1000 shaft that I got for £120 rather distorts things, as do the irons that cost 15% of their retail value. 3 wood was £30 compared to the £200 it cot the guy I bought it off. Putter was half retail price as were most other clubs,

Total cost £650.
If bought Retail (would never have considered it!) pretty much £2500!

Here we go then.

A) 8
B) £1400 (going on the rrp)
C) £250

Bearing in mind all the gear was brand new not a drop 2nd hand, irons were custom fit and i tried every driver out there, i best give a break down of why I paid so little.

Driver was bought as a Xmas gift by my parents in 2011
Irons bought by my parents after they had an ISA mature (they treated all of the kids)
Trustee rusty came free with the irons
Adams Wedges - again I chose them but were a birthday gift from my parents
My new bag was a Christmas gift this year from my girlfriend

The ony things I paid for were

3 Wood - picked up for £140
Hybrid - got for a bargain £50 as my local range had an overstock they couldn't return
Putter - paid £60

It's not till I've sat here looking at this thread I realised how little I'd paid for my gear and how lucky I've been.

6.7 h/c ( but up for revue after my long lay off ) cost of my 12year old ping i3's when new £285,now worth about £60 but I could still tan the backsides of plenty of all the gear no idea merchants.
