Please dont judge me!....... Well go on then!

I consider myself to be a totally honest person. I would go as far as to say my honesty is beyond reproach.
But if I found a golf ball on the course, obviously lost, and I stuck it in my pocket and you seriously accused me of being a petty thief....
I personally think that is a bigger crime than actually picking up the golf ball.

At our range its generally accepted that you loose balls but find others but this lad was telling me last weekend that he went on with 20 and went looking for balls!! To me that just ruins the karma of it, I mean how can a grown man be happy finding a load of practice balls?

May be by removing a proV from the basket I am helping the range owners.

The reason range balls don't go so far is to stop them flying out the back. The last thing the owners need is an irresponsible idiot firing missiles over the back fence. That is just dangerous. Especially so at my range as there is a golf hole accross the back, and I doubt anyone playing it is expecting to get hit.

Maybe it is theft. Frankly I don't treally care. If the range had paid for it, then I wouldn't take it, but they didn't.

I would happily use a range that had proVs as range balls, and not steal them, but since I can't find one, I have to pay proV type money to hit rubbish.

I cannot believe that ANYONE and I mean anyone would walk past a ball on an empty course and not put it in the bag.

Everyone does it!
Anyone who denies is plainly talking bol lox"

I'll get accused of stealing broken tees next. :o

I call it recycling ;)

BTW if I didn't pick up stray balls. Toe rags who roam the course and don't play golf would!

I called out to a guy in the trees the other night when I was playing with KeefG and his lad. He had two spaniels and was looking for "rabbits". Right, er, ok. what a load of twaddle.

I have taken back to the pro shop in the last 2 years, a driver head cover, two 3 wood covers, a hybrid cover, A wedge, and new ladies ping 7 iron and numerous towels. They are identifiable and would be welcomed.
Balls lost in the scrub is a different animal

In Florida this year I found a Cleveland 56 wedge, which looked new. I chased down the group in front, in my buggy(fun country stuff) to give it back. Turns out it had been hit twice. Had it been a golf ball, probably not.

I cant be doing with people looking for tees to use on the tee, forgodsake they cost about a pound yet some people just wont spend!!

The only time I bag a ball is if its AD333 and above, top flites, dunlops and the rest get smashed on the range or given to this fella who gives them to charity.

They cost a pound!!!!   My god, I didn't realise they were that expensive. :D ;)

I don't go to a tee box looking for tee's. I have one in my hand, but if I see a broken one, I recycle it.... Simples

I keep whole tees in my pocket while playing but if its a par 3 or I'm going to use an iron then I'll look for a broken tee first. Playing an iron, especially in dry weather, the tee is likely to break so why not use a broken one instead?
Every little helps..... Heard that before somewhere..

So it's not just me then.
I hate to see dozens of tees strewn on the floor. If there is a usable one, i'll snaffle it.

Not a tight git after all :D

Im talking bollox then vig, or you would be calling me a liar, wouldnt you?

I dont pick up what I dont need, and I dont have a habbit of taking ownership of something that isnt mine, thats how lots of bad things start isnt it.:D

Everyone needs a S**t but I doubt any of you would pick someone elses up, or would you? :D

In the spirit of this thread. I have donated 25 of my own personal rocks to the club range. These are balls that I won't ever use on the course. Being a minor ball tart / snob!

These 25. Gladly disappeared down the range prior to my game on Saturday. Fulfilling their reason for 'being', rather than the dreay existence in my garage.

What the club does with them now, I really don't mind.

There is a difference with broken tees as they are broken and disgarded and when they are reused on the tee, I dont think I have seen anyone popping them in their pocket, playing on with them, or taking them home, or popping them in a practice bag, or maybe some do

A club I occasionally play at in the New Forest requires all players to pick up their tees as they present a health hazard to the local wildlife. Deer, horses, ponies etc.

It's no different to repairing two pitch marks on the green. You do your bit to help.

Doesn't move the disussion forward, but it is a different view point!

what a pointless thread - people argueing over the morals of picking up broken tees and lost golf balls lol
