Was at the driving range last night and while hitting those hidieous yellow and white range ball i noticed a titleist ball sitting in there. After closer inspection i found it was a pro-v1. Result!

I bagged it.

Later i felt a little guilty but thought, sod it, everyone else would have bagged it - am i right or will i now burn in hell?

It didn't belong to the range either, so yep, would have bagged it too. A bit like finding a fiver down the back of the sofa.

My i did think about hitting it to get a better idea of how i was hitting but then as they are so expensive i thought keep it (and hit it into the lake at the weekend!)

It got there because the first hole runs up the length of range and a hook will take your ball over the bank and very small fence.

Shocking!

I would of at least of expected you to try and find out who it belonged to. Maybe ask in the pro shop if anyone has lost such a nice ball, after all they are expensive. Next, maybe a notice up on the clubhouse notice board, proclaiming that you've found said ball and are looking for it's owner.

I dunno. Everyone's on the take now-a-days!!

If my smilies were working, that would have ended in a wink and TIC.

1 of the ranges I use has a 9 hole par 3 running down both sides and across the end, inevitably some balls get hit over the fence, most baskets of balls contain 2 or 3 non-range balls, I always save them for the big stick. It's hilarious watching the guy in the next bay trying to figure how come his drives are only rolling out to around 200 - 220 and mine are hitting the fence 3m high! :D ;)

I think I might have hit it to compare to the range balls...I often think of taking a decent ball out of my bag at the range and doing just that.

I know if I where to do that, that would be the time when I knobble one 50 yards.

Exact same happened to me last night and I bagged it straight away!

There is always a selection of non-range balls at the place I go to as there is a 9 hole course right next to it but never came across a Pro V before.

IMO Theft pure and simple sorry it wasn't yours, a small crime but a crime non the less

lol Are you being sarcastic?

i would have bagged it aswell. Id say 99% of people would seeing a good ball that doesn't belong to the range sitting there. Exactly the same as picking up a lost ball out on the course.

Great, everyone else does it so that makes it okay??

Watches & wallets that are dropped are fair game too? Lots of people just pocket those??

Most, if not all, ranges will have signs/ rules that prohibits users from removing balls from the range. Who would want the embarrassment of being caught lifting balls from a range anyway?? :o

Righto, I'm off to rob next doors house, they've left the window open and if I didn't other people would do it!! :D
