Having seen a few comments on here, like 'and he plays ping' etc, have I missed something? Are pings not a decent club?
From the comments I've read, it's an embarrassment to use them?

Reason I ask is cos I tried a g10 at the range recently and got on well with it. Liked the cg16tour too though.

So, can someone enlighten me? I wouldn't want to buy the pings and get laughed out of the club house!

Somebody on here suggested that Ping tend to be played by the "OAP brigade" and it's kinda stuck.
Nothing could be further from the truth, and it's all good hearted banter.
Ping are a great club. One of the best.
And their second hand values tend to be better than most too.
There is defintely nothing wrong with playing Ping clubs.
In fact, if you are playing in a matchplay competition and you arrive at the first tee sporting a set of Pings, I can guarantee that your opponent will feel intimidated, and you are one up before you've even teed off.
They are that powerful.

Not at all.
There are a few Mizuno users who are just jealous of the ping guys so they started saying only old folk use Pings. It's just banter.
Buy the G10, great club and no-one will take the mickey

Ping make quality golf clubs. You won't have any issues with them. Many decent club players will too.

I would never play them, as my Dad has played Ping from as long as I can remember. He would never look at another brand. So for me, they are old man sticks.

Also, smiffy plays them.

Smiffy, please tell the nice ladies and gentlemen of the forum which club you bought yesterday? :D

Ping stuff is great :)

The only reason I didn't look at Ping when I was changing irons was that I didn't like the look of the G15 and I don't think I'm enough of a player to hit the I15.

I like my driver though :D

Have to say that I am exceptionally pleased with my G15 irons. Really wanted to buy Mizuno, but the fitting just didn't work out, and I tried 3 times......

Had one fitting on the Pings and the ball was flying, a lot better than it did with the Mizuno clubs. One month on and I am striking the ball better than I ever have. I agree, that could largely be down to a number of things in my practice, but, it still coincides with the purchase of my new Pings, they have given me a massive jump in confidence. Great clubs, recommend them, oh, and am a youngun at 46 :)

I have a set of PING G10's which I got last year custom fitted to 1* upright and I love them. I tried many different make's and the PING's were by far the best, nothing else came near them. I'm not a brand whore,as you can see by the mix of stuff I have in my bag but I would def recommend PING. I'm only 25 aswell so I won't be collecting my pension for a while yet :-)
