Anyone here play the Ping i irons?

This double trade in deal at AG is seriously turning my head. Have a set of G25's just now but can swap for a set of i's as well as refresh my 2 Vokeys and Ping hybrid for a ridiculously low price so seriously thinking about it.

So was just wondering if anyone on here plays them, what they thought of them?

Have you had a quote for your clubs yet...??
It's just a 7 iron set of G25's are worth £233 and to upgrade to a 7 iron set of the new I (e1) range is £699
£466 difference
Not a figure that I'd say was really low.....

I've a mate with a set btw , he loves them.
The new G range aren't overly big either, worth having a look at or hit of them as well.

Apologies, my post made sense to me as I was including the cash I've just brought in via selling a snooker cue & case and an ES14 launch monitor but of course you wouldn't have known that.

I would be swapping an 8 iron set of G25's for an 8 iron set of i's, which would only be another £60 on top of my G25's plus the cash above, or just over £300 if I refresh my hybrid and 2 Vokeys as well, hence my stupidly low price comment.

Ahhhh right
Makes bit more sense now anyway

But as said above
Don't rule out the G model
Lot more compact than previous G30 etc
Can make a nice combo set with the G and I models too

A good bit cheaper too, the numbers on that really are stupidly low, refresh the whole lot for about £120 plus my existing stack, or irons only and I'd have change from my stack. Just not sure I'm a fan of the really jacked lofts and low spin as you go up the bag in the G's.

I play these. Like them a lot. Fly a little higher than my old i15's but they feel really nice and I'm confident in clubbing up and playing a three quarter type shot to keep the flight lower when I need too. Give them a go. I liked the G's, but they just wanted to go straight and really really high (I just spun them way too much no matter what shaft we put in).

I know they are not forged but in all honesty, I didn't notice much difference against the others I tried (mp23's, mp5's, Srixon 745's, 716 AP2's). They were all good clubs really though. Enjoy trying them !

i have these and i can honestly say they are identical to my old i20's in every way. which is good because they where awesome. if i was in the market for ping irons i would either get a bargain and buy the i20/i25's or wait until February when they release the i200's. they look like a larger version of the s55's but with a i-blade finish

I got fitted for these by Ping a few months ago. Didn't buy in the end but saw some epic distance gains Vs my S55's. A good S55 7 iron is usually 167yrds. These things where touching 180yrds with the same club!
lovely feel too, was contemplating pulling the trigger next year, but if what Hovis is posted is right, I may wait to see what they are launching next year.

I like the look of them and they are top of my shopping list when I get to replace the I25's. I still fund the G, a little chunky for my eye. I actually hanker the blades but even though they aren't pure bladed and offer some help, my swing just wouldn't do them justice. I would definitely think about a fitting for the dot colour and finding a shaft to fit. I'm sure AG will help

Seriously homer you would be replacing them just for the sake of aesthetics. the i25' perform identical to my ie's. you will be impressed with Februarys new offering though

Was fitted for ping G but find I am pulling it 5 yards all the time think it might be the offset.
i am off 5 does this make sense as the more I practice the more frustrated I am getting pulling the ball but good contact.
hit the ie with same shaft AWT STIFF awesome no pull.
I AM seriously considering swapping as they have very little offset same as I blades

the new ping i series out in spring have less offset than the current ie's

More than likely they are a degree or two too upright and that is causing the slight pull. Go back and see your pro/fitter - Ping can flatten them a colour code if that's what is required.

I have the i25 and love them. Quality iron with enough forgiveness to help me out when I don't catch the middle, but feels amazing when I do. Definitely recommend, I presume the new versions are even better.

Fitting all done and a new set of G's have been ordered. The i's and G's look almost identical at address but the shaft head combo just felt a bit nicer to me with the G and the wee bit of extra distance will be handy so the G's won the day, 5 iron to gap wedge.
