I hit a slice regularly off the tee. Anyone out there own or tried either the Ping G30 SF Tec or the Cobra King F7 Driver. Wandering what your thoughts are.
I had the Ping SF tec with a regular shaft up until a few weeks ago.
I was still fading more than I could control with it.
Had a lesson (the key to all this!) corrected grip, which had become weak. Better alignment at address etc. and I achieved better straight shots, but it showed I was getting a high spin.
Tried a Ping LS tec with stiff shaft, complete with stronger grip etc and added good yardage to my drives and felt very nice.
I am now the proud owner of said club and have been extremely pleased. I compare to my PP's 3 times a week and it is much better for me.
My summary advice- Go for a lesson!
The weight in the heel means it drag slightly more than the two in flight and stops you opening the face as much (I think). But if your slice is from coming over the top, then no, probably not.Sorry for a possible thread hijack but can somebody please explain to far from straight hitter how the hell a club can stop somebody slicing. A fade I can imagine but as somebody who on a bad day can slice completely over an adjacent fairway I can’t imagine a club has been invented to cure a proper slice.
You can't. End of.Sorry for a possible thread hijack but can somebody please explain to far from straight hitter how the hell a club can stop somebody slicing. Agree with the above spend the money on a lesson and get that swing path sortedHate to burst the bubble but no club, regardless of the blurb will stop you slicing. I don't mean to be cruel, but if you accept this now you will save yourself money and time in abundance. Please don't waste your money on such sales blurb. I've seen a playing partner of mine hit an SF tech 2 fairways over.
Clubs don't fix such faults, nor do they help in any way I dare say, unless you call reducing your 40 yard slice to 36 a help
^^^^^this all day long. I had a driver lesson Feb time. It was a kind of eureka moment with the pro showing me that the stats show that my “ coming†over the top with the club angle. And the angle of the club head when hitting the ball are not the same. In essence both faults caused my fade which helped kill distance. Sort that out and it will help sort out problems with the irons as well.Agree with the above spend the money on a lesson and get that swing path sorted
