Pictures/Images

Only just seen this thread.

I have all the same issues as posted by Fish etc. I took my laptop to my Son in Law's house and he is an absolute expert on computers.
He messed about with it for a good hour and it has him completely bamboozeled! Said he's never seen this type of problem before.

Thought it was just my computer but I haven't been able to post on the advanced feature in any of my posts - all I use now is just the quick reply. I send a PM and don't know if it has worked.

It seems to me that the whole website has not been the same ever since the update from last year!

It would be nice for the GM Towers to recognise the issue and let us know its being looked into

I've found a temporary way around looking at and enlarging the images/pictures posted, you right click on them and open in new tab, that works OK and at least it then doesn't kick you out as you have no way to back space or close the 'blank' image otherwise when attempting to open normally.

I just thought it was my work computer as my ipad is fine to look at the pics. I just do the same as you Robin and open the pic in a new tab.

Another Firefox user and for the record I've been suffering the same issue recently and also having to use the new tab/new window option instead

Maybe one of us should swear in this thread to get Mod/GM attention and at least get acknowledgement that someone will look at it for us!

GM via Firefox seems to be the common denominator as pics open ok on other sites while using firefox

I used the report button and 4 mods came along as they do but everything was OK to them, so I suppose that's it then for us lower down the food chain :smirk:

Yeah I used the contact us report function a while back on a completely unrelated site issue and never got a reply so I'm not sure its a monitored service

I don't know what a Chrome or Firefox is (I actually thought the latter was a Clint Eastwood movie), I can't look at pictures properly and since I'm looking whilst at work can't really get our geeks to come and help.

As Amanda I think I'll just stop trying to look.

Chrome and Firefox are web browsing tools and can be used as alternatives to Internet Explorer

The big advantage with Firefox is that it is thought controlled to save you time typing stuff in...

... drawback is that you must think in Russian

:D

I have passed this on to the tech team when it was raised but as it seems to affect users who block ads (the source of revenue that underpins a free website) then it's not going to be near the top of the 'to do' list

It affects me even with the adblock off Mike so I believe its more of a compatibility issue with Firefox possibly?

No adblocker here either at home or work. No problem on another forum that uses vbulletin from the same pc's using different versions of internet explorer.

no adblock here either, I like the ads.

I also use Chrome with no issues...........

have I said already that Chrome is the one to use:smirk:

I'm not aware that I block ad's - I'm looking at a Merc one at present at the top of the screen.
