Used to be with BT, spoke to them and they were very clear they were not planning on putting fibre in my area within the next 15 years (am on a single track road). Thankfully Gigaclear came to the rescue, have been on fibre since 2014 ??

Can you remember how much ?

did you not need to pay to have fttp installed ?
Ah okay. They seem to specialise in rural broadband, think something went out to express interest for an area before they start. At the time they offered a DIY option as well as an install. Essentially they put in connectors outside each property - similar to water meter things if you have them, and you connect into those. The kit increased in price depending on how much cable you needed. Ours was pretty long - found this in my emails
"60m cable to be provided in your self-install kit which comes at a cost of £52".
Had the then teenage boys help one afternoon on the promise of faster gaming ?
