Personal Best today and in the rain! Funny old game :D

I wont bore you with a hole by hole account but i have recently joined my first course and play socially off around 22, handed my 3 cards in at 105/101/94 to get my handicap and came back with 17, i laughed at that thinking it was too good for me. Ive been playing a lot the last few weeks after really getting the bug back and starting to hit low 90s more consistantly, today on about my 10th round at my new club i came in with 84 (par70) wich is by far my best knock ever and i didnt really play that well at all! just consistent good recovering. Had 7 pars, 8 bogeys and 3 doubles, 2 on 17 and 18 wich ruined it a touch but i was wet and tired and have forgiven myself

I learnt today that you dont have to play your best or prettiest golf to score well....i have played much better than today last week and scored much worse, it's a fanny old game!

Sorry to bore you all but i felt the need to share my big cheesy grin!

nice 1, I parred 4 holes today, only played 9 holes with the seniors (bless em) but got a 9 and an 8 cos of the bloody wind, it was a killer, hard enough standing up to putt, a 44 tho, should have played full 18 as a sub 90 was well on the cards but didnt want to tempt fate

This is similar to my round Saturday just gone.

Piddling it down so only got 9 in. Went par, par, par, par, bogey...... Then the wheels came off and ended up playing to my handicap (+9 front 9) Gutted!

I hit it terrible yesterday but got it round in 34 points and came 5th in the division. Its about getting it round but to do it in a PB in the conditions today is pretty impressive. Well done

Ive always been a fair weather golfer to be honest and my mate was shocked i stayed out in the rain as i really dont like it! lol, i dont mind wind or cold but rain is yuk. I have decided now that i want to join a course play through most of the winter, play some comps and see how low i can get my handicap.

You're right Homer its about getting it round mate and not giving up, i did leave a lot of shots out there but i did hole a couple from the minge and get up and down a fair bit after some awful shots to scrape bogeys/pars.

The slightly annoying thing was my back was wet on the back 9 through my Wetsuit top from years ago so today i am going to try spraying it with tent waterproofer before i go out and hope that solves it haha, i cant afford new waterproofs just now with no work.

Im off out again shortly, but after learning a vey valuable lesson last week im going out with zero expectations and to enjoy it and hope i play a nice shot or 2 somewhere.

Good shooting, My best round ever 74 was similar didn't play great everything was average think i only hit 6 greens in the round, my other round of 74 i hit 14 greens and felt i had played my best golf ever.
