Peergroup pressure........... (910)

see this is the point rich, paid 235 for the r11 in march madness at direct golf, its just made £250 on ebay so im ready to shop. but the old burner never needed replacing if im honest, i was just wild with the r11. not sure if it was the 440 head instead of the usual 460 i was used to.

Best to try the D2 then , as the D3 i am trying has the smaller head. When i spoke to the manager at Direct Golf in Farnborough, he said he had sold hardly any 910's compared to TaylorMade, Ping etc. He had to order me a D3 just to try, as the only one in the shop had the wrong loft. I just hope everyone on here are not telling porkies, and they are in fact useless.

;)

Has to be worth a try does it not?

As I have said, I have only had one or two hits with a D3 with a very heavy shaft in it but it was 15 yards longer and alot nicer feel to my 909D2

I would get the 910D2 too not the D3 as I want the forgivness but ye, give it a go.

I looked at the 910 due to all the hype- and the fact I've played Titleist drivers for many many years. First impression was how light it was, seemed half the weight of my D2 8.5 but when I put it down to a shot it felt like a comedy golf club as the head just seems enormous, it might swing well but not had the chance yet

Have you considered the new Burner Superfast 2.0?
These do indeed go very well.

this was actually the club i should have purchased. Coming from the burner which i love, the superfast or new burner 2.0 superfast should have been the logical choice.

i may have a wack with the burner 2.0 first, but in all fairness it depends if i take the club championship on sunday.

so, the R11 is gone paid and forgotten, do i give in to peer group pressure and try the 910....

No.

Not unless you are feeling "flush".

I've been chasing a driver for a while now I feel I can dispense with square technology and supreme ugliness.

What did I get?

Callaway FT9? no
Ping G15? no
Titleist? (obviously not)

It might well be excellent, but if you love it, that'll be another huge dent in the golf pot.

I like the 910 but can I justify that amount of money when the Burner is still serviceable and their is an R7 Limited at home too. Not at the moment financially for certain. I do like the Titleist but is it better than the G15 or the Superfast or any other make. At the end of the day like everything gear related, one mans meat and all that. I'm not a fan of adjustable technology anyway and so that puts me against the Titleist and the R11. Too much of a tinkerer and too much temptation. Give me a bog standard driver and I'll still show you any number of ways to miss a fairway.

Eh.........enormous, there all like that these days.

my 907 D1 is huuuuge (and nearly as ugly as my ex!!) , it has 3 times zones and its own magnetic field. When I 1st got it I felt like I was swinging a dustbin lid!!! :)

Try a few out but if you've got one that goes well then start using that again imo.

I love mine, but you still have to hit it well. No club in the world is going to get you fairways if you swing like an octopus falling out of a tree.

I had a G10 which I was hitting superbly. Went with all the hype and swapped out to a G15 when it was launched. Biggest mistake I made. I helped fund the purchase of the G15 by selling the G10. It was gone. The love of my life. Why the hell did I change????
A fool and his money (as they say)

If you have a driver that you love, why on erth are you buying another driver? :D

Absolutly right Bob we all think we can get a few extra yards. I was talking to some of our scratch team the other day as i organise them. I asked one player when was the last time he changed his clubs he told me nine years ago.

This is a man who has got over 150 county caps. and it's more or less the same with the rest of them you never see them change a club because it stops working? after being able to hit it well. they know where the fault lies.
