depends how the question is phrased and what answers options you have.

I think I can safely predict that...
no-one actively wants it enforced...
no-one really likes it......
everyone understands the commercial reason behind it....
a small percentage just love it as they meet new people or dont have golf buddies
if given a choice the majority would say no to being paired up
everyone should be told in advance of booking or playing to manage expectations

I think it ranks alongside booking a romantic dinner with the wife to be informed on arrival that you are dining with two others - not really on

Depends if the other two happen to be lesbians or not.

I got paired up at Carnoustie a few years back. I was introduced to my two Japanese playing partners on the first tee who couldn't speak a word of English bar the word "YES"!

Rather frustrating and lonely day, waste of a greenfee if Im being honest and I wouldn't really be happy about doing it again.
