OWGR

It’s interesting looking at some of the names there and the longevity of some players

No idea how Webb Simpson or Dufner won majors
Same way Ben Curtis, Tod Hamilton, Paul Lawrie etc won a major. They had a good week and shot lower scores than the rest of the field !

At least Duffner and Simpson made it to worlds top 10 so would suggest they had a good patch in their careers for at least a 2 year period as well as winning majors.

Get your point but don’t think Ben Curtis deserves to be put in that category of one hit wonders.
He won a few pga tour events, a few major top 10s and made a Ryder cup team.

That’s kind of my point! Which you have proven for me. Webb Simpson and Duffner also won tour events, top 10 OGWR and played in Ryder cups.

My response was to the post of how did they win majors and it’s no different to Curtis or other one time winners. They won because they had the lowest scores than of the week.

There was a period when the majors had a lot of one time winners in the early 2000s with the likes of Shaun Micheel, Rich Beem, Todd Hamilton, Y E Yang, Ogilvy, Glover, Weir, Toms etc. that began to belie the ‘cream rising to the top’ in Majors, almost making them like ordinary tour stops, but this has not been the case so much recently.

I’ve picked u up wrong then as I’ve read that as you’re viewing Curtis/hamilton/Lawrie as outliers and that likes of Simpson & dufner should be given more credit for further accomplishments other than major.
My bad

You could look at the likes of Wyndham Clark ,Harman, Fitzpatrick and Cam Smith

There have been 8 one time winners since 2018
